10,884 Costa Ricans have been infected with dengue in 2016

In just one week, dengue patients in the country rose to 674 cases. Thus, the total number of victims of this disease increased from 10,210 cases in the previous week to 10,884.

The information was provided by the Ministry of Health through its epidemiological bulletin.

The report also notes an increase in cases of Chikungunya (295) and Zika (1,696).

Regarding pregnant women with Zika, this week the number remained at 15 cases.

The mosquito Aedes aegypti has infected more than 6,300 Costa Rican in 2016 and treating the diseases it causes has cost more than ¢ 37,400 million to the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).
