A total of 11 companies from the Costa Rican food industry will participate in Anuga 2017, one of the most important food fairs in the world, bringing together 7,400 exhibitors and 160,000 potential buyers from around the world.
The Costa Rican delegation that participates in Anuga is made up of the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER) and companies Todo Natural, Roma Prince, Montaña Azul, Congelados Bajo Cero, Global Partners, Alimentos Kamuk, Fruta Sana, ICAFÉ, Productos Agropecuarios Visa, Ingenio Taboga and Florida Products, as well as Icafé, Coopeagri, Coopronaranjo, Coopevictoria, Zalmari and Vikingo Real.
The national products to be exhibited at the fair are: dehydrated and canned pineapple, roasted coffee, pasta, sauces and dressings, preserved and frozen fruits and vegetables such as heart of palm, papaya, strawberries and pineapple, frozen cassava, ready-to-eat frozen products like cassava snacks ready to fry and consume, pineapple and frozen papaya in different presentations, fresh and dehydrated pineapple, dehydrated rambutan, brown sugar and pineapple juice and concentrates.
The organization of this fair lists its participants in 10 categories: organic products, gourmet products and regional specialties, healthy and functional food, private label, kosher products, halal food, vegetarian products, ingredients, fair trade products and vegan products.
From January to August 2017, the Costa Rican food industry exported $1,107 million, which represented 15% of total exports of goods. In addition, it had a growth of 6% compared to the same period last year.
