The 20 pending property expropriations and the delays in the construction of three bridges – for the obstructions to start working the track across the wetland ‘La Culebra’- will be crucible points to determine if the Government will inaugurate the road to San Carlos in the first months of 2018, as it is has projected.
Even if that happens, the project will be incomplete. The southern point (Sifón de Ramón-San Miguel de Naranjo) barely has been designed and it’s unknown when construction work would begin.
The bill project that promoted the construction of the road to San Carlos was presented 47 years ago and since them began a protracted ordeal that still doesn’t has an end in sight. Even, one last hurdle came in this week, when Conavi was close to suspend works in the central track claiming lack of supervision.
