2 million 344 thousand people became ill with dengue last year in Latin America
According to Dr. Franklin Hernandez of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), last year saw 2,314,000 cases of dengue with 1,200 dead in Latin America. Costa Rica reported 49,868 cases and 1 death. Last year health authorities dealt with a state of emergency for outbreaks of dengue on the central pacific coast. Source crhoy.com
