According to the National Poisoning Control Center (CNCI), during this year, 2,227 children under 12 years old have been poisoned and have required medical attention.
Medicine poisoning is in the top of the list. This year, there have been 947 cases. It is followed by cleaning products poisoning with a total of 140 cases. Physicians are more concerned about the last one.
Doctor Ana Elvira Salas, director of the CNCI, declared that in recent years trading companies have changed their formulas to provide better products. Nevertheless, the concentration of chemicals is harmful to people’s health.
