Yesterday, Mariano Figueres, Presidential Commissioner for the reconstruction of the areas affected by Hurricane Otto, explained that initially 25 aqueducts will be rebuilt with the donation from the United Arab Emirates.
This country granted $10 million to the Government of Costa Rica to address this issue, following a visit by President Luis Guillermo Solís last week.
Of these 25 aqueducts, 20 are in Upala, three in La Cruz, one in Bagaces and one more in Las Barras.
Of course, the AyA could expand the number of aqueducts that need to be rebuilt.
This money and all donations will be deposited directly in the accounts of the National Emergency Commission,”
said Figueres.
The National Emergency Plan should be ready by January 30th, according to the schedule of the authorities.
