Storm Nate wreaked havoc on the national territory in the early days of October. Today, three weeks later, there are still 300 people in 22 shelters.
These shelters are located in Guanacaste, the South Zone and the Central Pacific, mainly.
According to Ivan Brenes, president of the National Emergency Commission (CNE), these people are still in the shelters because the area where they live is at risk of landslide or their houses suffered some damage.
The CNE reiterated the call for prevention and precaution these days as a result of the increase in rainfall that will occur from Tuesday due to a tropical depression.
The South, Central and North Pacific are on yellow alert, as are places like Acosta, Puriscal and the Santos Zone, while the rest of the Central Valley and the North Zone are on green alert.
