Officers of the Drug Control Police (PCD) and the National Coast Guard Service (SNG) of the Ministry of Public Security arrested three subjects who transported a total of 346 kilograms of cocaine and five kilos and 312 grams of marijuana.
This operation occurred when the authorities intercepted a boat in the Pacific Ocean, specifically at the entrance to the Gulf about 60 nautical miles from Golfito. This is how the officers who detected a white and blue Nauta-type vessel, named Valeria, with an Ecuadorian flag and two engines.
The three crew members were identified as Guagua, 25, Ecuadorian, DarĂo, 43, Colombian, and Olivar, 29, Guatemalan. They traveled with the 346 kilograms of cocaine labeled “crab”, “QP” and “double check”.
Similarly, the PCD confiscated five kilos and 312 grams of marijuana, two GPS, a base radio and a portable one, and other articles. The suspects were presented to the prosecutor’s office for drug trafficking, a crime for which they can face sentences of up to 20 years in prison.
