38% of jobs require at least a bachelor’s degree

In Costa Rica, it is necessary to have at least a bachelor’s degree to apply for 38% of the jobs that are available in the service sector. This includes university bachelors, graduates, masters or those who have a PhD.

It is also necessary to have completed high school to opt for one of the available positions in that sector (18% of the positions require this).

Less than 10% of the jobs tolerate that their collaborators have incomplete primary or secondary education.

Also, only 1% of jobs are available for people without schooling. In this last field workers of hygiene, security, construction or assistant in preparation of food stand out.

The information comes from a recent study prepared by the Institute of Statistics and Census in conjunction with Conape.
