In a joint effort, the Coast Guard of Costa Rica and the United States seized 550 kilos of cocaine in a boat that traveled nine miles from Moín, in Limón.
On Saturday night and thanks to a work of police intelligence between both bodies of the Coast Guard, we began the pursuit of a boat with two engines of 200 horsepower,”
said Milton Alvarado, national director of the Coast Guard.
The subjects aboard the boat fled the mountain and at this moment, officers of the Public Force, Coast Guard, Border Police, and the Air Surveillance Service (SVA) work in an operation to find the suspects.
The officers located 18 bags with 550 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride; in addition, six small containers of fuel known as pichingas, as well as six cannons. Also three coolers, a briefcase and two satellite globalization systems known as GPS.
