A total of 30 bags of marijuana were found and seized on Tuesday night in Portete Limón.
Coast Guard officials found the bags in the sea, after they were released from a speedboat.
Although the official amount is not ready, officials believe it could be more than 650 kilograms of the drug.
Officials later chased the speedboat and managed to catch and arrest the three subjects who were in it.
Apparently, another boat transporting the drug ran aground in San Clemente, Limón, where two other people apparently fled by land.
