8 babies were born without being affected by Zika virus

So far, 42 pregnant women in Costa Rica have been affected with Zika virus. According to the Ministry of Health, 8 of them gave birth and their babies didn’t present any complications related to microcephaly.

Daniel Salas, from the department of Medical Surveillance at the Ministry of Health, informed that these cases have taken place throughout 2016.

Zika virus was detected in 1,151 people. Authorities think it could mean a reduction of cases, but it wouldn’t be a good idea to be careless.

I think people have gradually listened to us. However, mosquito breeding grounds haven’t disappeared. It seems that the population has paid attention to the health measures. As consequence, cases didn’t increase as we thought they would,

declared Salas.

Official urge people to keep following health measures:

-Eliminate mosquito breeding grounds.
.Use condons during sex.
.Use repellent and accessories that protect you from mosquito bites.
