The government has very little to gain and much to lose if it convenes the bill to limit wage bonuses in the public sector for extraordinary sessions of the Congress, according to Deputy Minister of the Presidency for Legislative Affairs, Luis Paulino Mora.
Mora argued that it would be pointless because there is still no agreement between the legislative parties to give a prompt processing.
The deputy minister added that the initiative is in a period of consultation with public institutions.
However, some factions believe that not having included the project in the special sessions shows that the executive branch is not interested.
This is irrefutable proof that they are not interested and that is not a priority,”
said the head of the fraction of the National Liberation Party (PLN), Maureen Clarke.
The Executive did not include the extraordinary initiative that began on December 1st, but it did call projects to create new taxes.
If there is no public employment, if there is no evidence that they actually want to influence public spending, there won’t be taxes, simple and easy,”
said Clarke.
The project aims to limit to 6 additional incentives to wage in the public sector: dedicated, prohibition, career, availability, annuity and zoning.
