Yesterday, the Costa Rican press confirmed that parking spaces for vehicles in Palmares cost between 5000 to 15,000 colones.
In vacant lots and even in backyards, the locals take the opportunity to earn extra money and survive January.
Elías Segura is one of those people. He also has sodas and water for his customers for 10,000 colones, and he takes care of the vehicles until the end of the event.
Carlos Rodríguez rents the house yard and charges 8000 colones per vehicle. He says it is the first time he has done this.
We are right in front of the main street and the price is affordable, I think that in a while I will no longer have available space,”
said the man.
