In addition to the impressive landscapes and favorable climate, the main attractions of La Fortuna de Bagaces are its hot springs. Thanks to its proximity to Miravalles volcano, residents and visitors can enjoy water parks and thermal spas throughout the year.
Likewise, the establishments offer complementary activities to satisfy the needs of its clients.
Marcos Alvarado, manager of Termales Guayacán, explains that in order to make the experience more attractive for tourists, the area offers other activities such as canopy, volcano walks, hanging bridges, lodging options and delicious local food.
Another favorite attraction is the mud bath in Las Hornillas. Bsides being relaxing and working as a natural exfoliant, it has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Enjoying its local products is another benefit of visiting La Fortuna. The most representative one is the cheese, which is found in almost every corner of the district.
How to get there?
If you travel by bus, you must take Aguas Claras bus to Bagaces at the Pulmitan bus station, San José.
They offer 2 bus schedules from Monday to Sunday. The first one at 5:30 am and one last trip at 2:00 pm.
The cost of the ticket is 3600 colones.
If you travel by car, you must take route 27, then drive through the Interamerican Road until Bagaces.
