95 percent of recently graduated specialists from CCSS are unemployed
Of the 197 medical specialists who graduated last year from internships with the Costa Rican Social Security (CCSS), 95 percent percent remain unemployed. Although the CCSS says the doctors are ineligible for work, the Colegio de Médicos says the statement is a ploy for management at the CCSS to cover their mistakes. On February 19th, the CCSS will select a new round of candidates, which would be on the job by May. Specialists are especially needed in rural areas outside of the central valley.
