On Monday morning, Turrialba Volcano showed an impressive eruption, captured by cameras of the Vulcanological and Seismological Observatory Research Institute of Costa Rica (OVSICORI-UNA), at 4:30 a.m., which reached approximately 1000 meters above the top of the crater.
According to Floribeth Vega, the activity has been constant for several days, with sporadic ash emissions, which are not explosive and have remained stable.
According to the expert, at the moment the sectors most affected by ashfall are Heredia, Curridadabat, Ipis, Coronado, and Escazú.
