José Alberto Monterrosa, lawyer for Samuel Yankelewitz, former owner of Corporación Yanber, said that technically, the accusation from the banks is not for fraud but for another figure.
Technically speaking, not subjectively, for me this isn’t the crime of fraud. It could be another figure of a banking nature, perhaps, but it is something that we have to develop and discuss widely throughout the process. I say this, so that it is not misinterpreted, I am not accepting that a crime was committed, no, what I say is that it seems to me, that what technically should be analyzed is, not a fraud, but another criminal figure that is contemplated in the Criminal Code because I think that is what really should be discussed,”
said Monterrosa, who defends not only the former owner of the Yanber Corporation but also the former financial manager, Allan Paniagua.
The Deputy Prosecutor for Economic Crimes is currently conducting four raids in which they intend to obtain evidence that could be in the possession of the people investigated in this case, which is still against the Yanber company.
