On Saturday, an American tourist who got lost in Arenal Volcano National Park after 6:30 p.m. was rescued before midnight.
As reported by the Red Cross of the area, after receiving the alert of the lost person they coordinated rescue work for Sunday at 5:00 a.m. However, a group of park rangers and tour guides entered the park at night and managed to rescue him around midnight.
The foreigner is between 25 and 28 years old, and left the place in good health. He apparently got lost after leaving one of the trails where he walked.
The Red Cross stated that the American notified a Mexican friend by phone, and she was the one who gave notice to the authorities.
