The lawmakers in the Legislative Assembly began their administration by predicting good things, if one takes into account the negotiations for the creation of a multiparty directory, where there were no major drawbacks.
With the beginning of the work, one of the priorities for this first year will be the reforms to the legislative regulation to improve the work and governance of the Legislature. This was stated by the elected board at its first press conference after the plenary session ended.
Without a doubt, it is one of the priorities. We have to demonstrate that from the Legislative Assembly we can also set an example regarding the reform of the State,”
said Carolina Hidalgo, who specifically mentioned several changes that must be made in the legislature, such as the days for processing a bill as well as fast tracks for said processing.
Another aspect to be changed is the time given to each lawmaker to speak, both in committees and in the Plenary and the number of signatures required to present an advisory opinion before the Constitutional Chamber.
Another priorities will be the fiscal project that was left pending. According to the new directory, the idea is not to focus on a single project, since there are many on the agenda that need to be discussed.
