A group of about 20 people demonstrated on the Second Avenue with the objective of opposing the new government of Carlos Alvarado, who was sworn in as president of the Republic in Plaza de la Democracia yesterday.
Shouting “He is not my president!” and “He does not represent me!”, the protesters held signs expressing their opposition to abortion, the project of fiscal reform, and same-sex marriage.
Claudio Cabezas, one of the attendees and whom they mentioned as leader, indicated they continue to denounce a possible electoral fraud, since not a single survey hit the final result of the elections won by Carlos Alvarado with more than 60% of the support.
Other different groups of protesters waited for the new authorities outside the National Theater. Some of them asked for decent housing and greater environmental protection.
