A new alliance between Promotora de Comercio Exterior (PROCOMER), Eurocámara and the Chamber of Commerce of Costa Rica seeks to promote trade, investment, and business relations between the European Union (EU) and the country.
The objective is to generate business opportunities for entrepreneurs from both regions, within the framework of the Association Agreement between the EU and Central America.
In the region, Costa Rica has the most diversified and most value-added exportable offer. The main export products of Costa Rica to the EU in 2017 were banana (23.2%), pineapple (19.4%), medical prosthesis (8.2%) and other devices for medical use. While the imported products are headed by medicines (11%), automobiles (8%), antisera (4%) and intermediate iron or steel products (2%).
As part of the actions aimed at promoting European trade and investment, the three entities will participate in the Buyers Trade Mission that will take place from September 25th to 26th at the National Convention Center.
Nearly 60 European companies will participate in this mission, 14 of which offer agricultural and industrial machinery and whose objective is to explore the possibilities of inserting their product in the Costa Rican market.
According to Pedro Beirute, General Manager of PROCOMER, this space will serve to create commercial ties between Costa Rican and international suppliers and help them expand their operations.
In addition, Beirute explained that each year there is a wide range of buyers and suppliers of goods and products, in the food, agricultural and specialized industry sectors.
