Emilia Navas, Attorney General of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed that a hearing was held in the Criminal Court of San José to deliver to the Computer Crimes Section of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) the backups extracted from the computers of the judges investigated for the dismissal of the case against former legislators Víctor Morales and Otto Guevara.
The computers had already been confiscated, the backup of the information had already been done. Today we delivered the evidence to the officer of Crimes and in front of the judge,”
said Navas.
The investigation is against Carlos Chinchilla (former president of the Third Chamber and former president of the Supreme Court of Justice), Doris Arias, Celso Gamboa (dismissed former magistrate) Jesús Ramírez and substitute magistrate María Elena Gómez.
The magistrate Román Solís presented a report against the judges of the Third Chamber for the dismissal of said case on July 12th.
The document, dated July 3rd of this year, and addressed to the General Secretariat of the Judiciary, establishes as recommendation
the application of the disciplinary regime by the Full Court to the judges of the Third Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice: Carlos Chinchilla, Jesus Ramirez, Doris Arias, Celso Gamboa (dismissed by the Legislative Assembly on April 10th, 2018) to the substitute magistrate María Elena Gómez Cortés.”
