Out of the 3,300 principals of academic centers that are in the payroll of the Ministry of Public Education (MEP), 2,440 did not heed the notice of returning from the strike and will therefore be replaced. Those who remain unemployed are 74% of the total.
This Monday was the last day for these officials to return to their work. However, the leaders of the centers ignored the instruction of the Ministry. Therefore, they will be replaced with supervisors, teachers, assistant principals or administrative personnel.
The urgency of their return is due to the beginning of the process to prepare for the next school year, which should be developed by these officials.
According to Édgar Mora, Minister of Education, this substitution will be gradual.
