The judicial authorities asked citizens for help to find a black suitcase with a white floral pattern that belonged to Carla Stefaniak, the Venezuelan tourist who was found dead on Monday, at the Villa Le-Mas hotel in San Antonio de Escazú.
On Wednesday, a person found some of the foreigner’s clothing in a property next to the hotel and notified the authorities.
The agents showed up at the place where a suitcase, valuables, clothing and the passport of the now deceased woman were found in that wooded area, however, there is still a suitcase to recover,”
informed the judicial police.

This Thursday, the Municipality of Escazú announced that they closed the hostel where the Venezuelan tourist stayed, since it no longer had the permits.
Carla Stefaniak died in an alleged sexual attack by an employee of the hotel. The woman celebrated her 36th birthday in national territory and planned to return to the United States on November 28th.
The main suspect of the crime is a Nicaraguan named Espinoza Martínez.
