Four foreigners arrested suspected of money laundering

The Deputy Prosecutor’s Office of Alajuela issued three months of preventive custody against four foreigners. The three men with named Pérez Barrera, Suchite Galdámez, and Morán Mazariegos, as well as a woman named Aldana Ruano, were arrested at the Juan Santamaría International Airport, as suspects of the crime of money laundering.

The Criminal Court of the province accepted the precautionary measure requested by the Public Ministry last Saturday. The foreigners were captured last Friday, while entering the country from from Guatemala.

The suspects were intervened by the Drug Control Police, who found $29,954 in their luggage. Subsequently, they were sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, where an investigation was opened against them.
