On Monday afternoon, the National Emergency Commission (CNE) decided not open national and international visits to Poás Volcano National Park.
The decision was made after ash emanation was reported in the morning. According to the CNE statement, it was agreed to keep the park closed until Tuesday, in order to have a wider observation window.
The authorities explained the decision was made with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of tourists and park rangers.
The eruptions have reached 200 meters above the crater and incandescence was recorded at night. Everything was recorded in the security cameras located near the crater,”
