Alvarado says protests are unjustified

July 16, 2019 by Staff News Writer

President Carlos Alvarado said Monday’s protests by several sectors in different parts of the country are unjustified. He stated he was hopeful that society was able to distinguish between the demands that are just and those that, in his opinion, are unjustified and only seek to hinder the progress of the country. He added that his administration will keep dialogue channels open.

In addition, the President said that reports from the Ministry of Education indicate that of the 800 secondary schools, only 69 had problems this Monday, of which 22 were resolved after negotiation between the authorities of the Ministry and the Public Force.
