Congressman Mario Redondo, President of the Commission of Revenue and Public Expenditure filed a complaint. According to a document submitted by some companies, Autoridad Reguladora de Servicios Públicos (ARESEP) could be forced to pay 8,403,556,803 colones due to five legal processes that are waiting for a sentence.
The involved companies are: Inversiones Tapachula S.A, Consorcio de Transportes Cooperativos Metrocoop R.L., Buses INA- La Uruca, Autotransportes Moravia S.A. and Musoc S.A.
In December 2014, Inversiones Tapachula S.A. requested a payment of 4,717,522,248.00 colones for damages, 802,734,878.19 colones for losses, ¢556.525.712,61 for personal costs and 378,224.21 colones due to legal costs.
Consorcio de Transportes Cooperativos Metrocoop R.L is supposed to receive 1,846,656,972 colones for damages, generated interest from October 2013 to October 2015, legal and personal costs.
Buses INA-La Uruca would receive 458,860,537 colones distributed in 402,287,430.00 colones for damages, 34,555,939.00 colones due to interests and 2,017,168.00 colones for personal costs.
Autotransportes Moravia SA should receive 10,760,500 colones and Musoc S.A SA could receive 10,114,677 colones.
Redondo declared that it is unusual that ARESEP has to pay such high costs and an investigation is being considered.
