Apparently, the newborn hammerhead shark was taken from its mother’s womb. Still, a peddler put it for sell in the capital’s streets.
The subject was addressed on Friday by staff of the Municipal Police of San José and the Costa Rican Institute of Fishing and Aquaculture (INCOPESCA). The man was among the four arrested for violating the Fisheries Act, violation of the ban and fishing of endangered species extinction.

confirmed the capital’s municipal police.
Costa Rica is committed to protect hammerhead sharks, according to international agreements in International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
In other actions taken by the security authorities, spoiled avocados being offered by street vendors were seized.
Furthermore, in San Sebastián a place equipped with gambling machines was closed.
Six local illegal gambling locations were shut down this afternoon in downtown San José. The action was executed with the security forces,”
said the Municipal Police of San José, in a report given this weekend.
Municipal authorities maintained a bitter struggle against existing peddling in the main streets of the city.
