On October 27th and Octobert 28th, the northern area will host the third edition of the Accessible Tourism Fair.
The activity will involve several organizations that want to promote recreational areas that include all people, no matter whether they have a disability. It will take place in La Fortuna de San Carlos.
Abby Fernández, regional leadership of the National Council of People with Disabilities (CONAPDIS), explained that these fairs are motivated by the characteristics of the area.
A commission created a strategy in which 7 public and private institutions are involved. Fernández said that among the participants, there are the National Training Institute (INA), the Ministry of Health, the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), and other private companies.
Evelyn Arce, CONAPDIS regional adviser, expalined that the activity will take place from 8 am to 4 pm in La Fortuna park, where there will be a space to show both tourists and business owners things about this activity, in order to promote an accessible tourism. In addition, Arce explained that they are promoting hot springs beyond the recreational aspect: they want to use it for health treatments and rehabilitation.
