The National Emergency Commission (CNE) maintains 2 shelters in Cañas and Aserrí, with 20 people each, due to the floods that occurred on Tuesday as consequence of the strong downpours.
Walter Fonseca, head of operations of the entity, said that some alerts have been reported in Tilarán, Cañas, Bagaces, Nandayure and Santa Cruz de Guanacaste.
Fonseca also declared that the institution has been following-up high tide, whichs has been reported in the Pacific area, in places like Estero in Puntarenas, Playa Zancudo, Pavones and Esterillos.
The green alert is maintained throughout the country, despite the fact that rains are not as strong as they were a couple of days ago.
