Whoopi Goldberg is furious. The actress and TV host commented the unfortunate event she had to live due to false news that was created in Costa Rica.
The article was written by a person who lives in this country and the information was published in a website called Underground Report. It was created and administered by an American who lives in Costa Rica and who, as a way to apologize, said that his site warns that everything published there is a satire or false news.
The false news indicated that Goldberg had said that a soldier’s widow, to whom Donald Trump paid tribute during his first speech to Congress, cried just to draw attention. Goldberg claims that this note endangered her and her family, who was forced to hire security and also received all kinds of threats and insults.
The actress said she will sue the person responsible for the incident, who is supposedly called “James”.
The subject said in a post that, although he started the publications for fun, the project was growing as an experiment with significant political and social consequences:
I have never closed my site or apologized and the day after publishing Goldberg’s note, I posted another one called ‘Breaking news: Trump’s fool supporters feel for a satire’ and I explained my 9-day adventure writing false news.
The subject created the website and, within a few days, it reached a million visitors using fake notes about Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and actress Whoopi Goldberg, among others.
