An officer from the security forces in Peñas Blancas prevented a 23-year-old Nicaraguan, surnamed Amador, from crossing the border. He had kilos of cocaine in his luggage.
He had no record or residence card. The subject was arrested and he is under the custody of the Prosecutor of Liberia for precautionary measures. The man tried to carry the drug to Nicaragua.
Authorities keep several preventive measures against possible crimes and operations at strategic points of the border area to fight drug trafficking and smuggling.
