50 breast-cancer survivors will receive a nipple tattoo, thanks to the donation of a Colombian artist who will participate in the first tattoo campaign of this kind in Costa Rica.
This activity is organized by the National Breast Cancer Solidarity Foundation (FUNDESO) and it aims to help 50 breast cancer survivors recover their image and heal the psychological wounds left by this cancer.
Fabian Henao, through his Tinta Esperanza Foundation, is the artist who will visit the country to give a second hope to the survivors.
Inés Gutiérrez, a spokeswoman for FUNDESO, informed that they have chosen 25 women, but they need to assist 50 people from April 29th to May 2nd.
Making the tattoo takes less than an hour per patient and it is expected to assist 10 people per day.
Fundeso is still looking for 25 more patients. Gutiérrez explained the requirements to be part of the campaign:
The only thing we ask is that patients were operated more than 4 months ago, so that they are healed, and that there is no pending operation,
If you want to be a part of the campaign, you have to send a photograph from the neck down to to the breasts (they need to be seen), with the arms down, to 6402-3995.
