Lucrecia Córdoba’s photo, wearing her Red Cross uniform while eating surrounded by mud and rubble, went viral in social networks and it quickly accumulated hundreds of positive comments, highlighting the noble work she and her colleagues are doing.
Córdoba spoke with CRHoy.com and said that she has been a volunteer for 5 years in Zarcero´s Committee. She is a teacher and works at the Distance State University (UNED) in Palmares. She had the opportunity to help in Upala and she’s been doing it for 5 days.
3 people were cleaning the place (…) there is so much to do that we lose the notion of time. When the food arrived, I sat there to eat, the truth is that I did not realize when they took the photo,
stated Córdoba.
Lucrecia Córdoba added that she had never helped in an emergency of such magnitude and her biggest motivation is to see people’s faces when they are assisted.
