A policeman was forced to shoot and kill an American Stafford dog that attacked an elderly in Desamparados.
According to Carlos Hidalgo, a spokesman from the Ministry of Public Security, the incident occurred 100 meters east of the Catholic church.
He added that, without even knowing the reasons, the animal attacked the old man and it produced a wound in his left wrist.
For this reason official from the Ministry of Security were called. Once the patrol arrived, the hound threw himself on the officer to bite him.
At that moment, the policeman pulled out his regulation weapon and shot him. The animal died at the site.
