As if it were a graduation, the members of the Association of Public and Private Employees (ANEP) applauded the public officials who went on strike for 86 days.
The union officially ended the protest against the Fiscal Plan on Tuesday, after its approval in the second reading in the Legislative Assembly.
Led by ANEP Secretary General, Albino Vargas, they congratulated the employees of the National Children’s Hospital, Cen-Cinai, municipalities and other institutions that didn’t go to work until last day of the strike.
Vargas asked the trade unionists to return to their workplaces with their heads held high, without letting anyone humiliate them.
Vargas believes tricks were used for the approval of the Law of Strengthening of Public Finances.
The combo was imposed with a trap, playing dirty, with tricks, with a political negotiation at the highest level,”
concluded the unionist.
ANEP warns of a fight to avoid reforms to the Labor Procedure Law and progress in the Public Employment project; they could even call for another strike.
