Agronomists and forestry experts analyze future of agriculture and food

The opening of the XIV National Agricultural, Forestry and Environmental Congress, organized by the Association of Engineers from Costa Rica, will be held on October 24th at the National Theater, at 7:00 p.m., in order to analyze the future of agriculture and food.

The event will be held at the Wyndham Herradura Hotel from October 25th to 27th and will bring together agronomists, forestry experts, environmental managers and representatives of the Government.

The Congress will also feature a wide variety of national and international guests to offer a several topics ranging from biotechnology, forestry, soil, livestock, to crops such as coffee, bananas, sugar cane, avocados, vegetables, pineapple and rice, among others.

According to the president of the Association, Óscar Fonseca, the idea is that this great effort generates ideas for policy proposals, applicable research, new technologies and academic approaches to foster the development of agriculture, forestry and the environmental sector of the country in the coming decades.

In the list of participants stand the Coffee Institute of Costa Rica, National Learning Institute, Industrial Agrochemicals Rimac, SFE, Agrocosta, Cenecoop, Fundecor, Eurosemillas, National Rice Corporation, CropLife, Chamber of Agricultural Inputs, Seed Bank Catie, South Agricultural Chemical Division, National Banana Corporation, and the Agricultural Industrial League of Sugarcane.

The American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Banking System Development will be some of the collaborators.
