As of October 28th, 2018, the Air France-KLM group will operate a daily flight between Costa Rica and Europe during the European winter 2018-2019.
Since November 2nd, 2016, when Air France opened its Paris-San José route with two weekly flights, it is the third time that the company has increased its offer. Initially it increased to three weekly flights for the current winter 2017-2018. It then announced two permanent flights during the European summer 2018 (from March to October) and now Air France will increase to four weekly flights during the winter season 2018-2019.
KLM, which opened its Amsterdam-San José route in October 2017 with two weekly flights during the winter, will expand its offer to three flights starting next winter season 2018-2019.
During the season from October 2017 to January 2018, Air France transported 34,246 passengers (an increase of 70% compared to the same period from 2016 to 2017) and maintains an average occupancy of 91%.
KLM inaugurated its Amsterdam-San José route on October 31st, 2017. During the current winter season (from October 2017 to January 2018) it has transported 14,590 passengers, with an average occupancy of 87%.
