Alimony-domestic violence package is affecting men

Men have many problems: besides dealing with alimony, many of them are also reported for alleged domestic violence.

It is a full package and it finds them in a tight spot. According to the Institute of Man’s Support (FUNDIAPHO), such cases are so recurrent and sometimes they don’t have legal bases.

This is called parental alienation: according to the claimants, the State, through the legal system, becomes co-author of the ‘damage’ caused to minors.

Eugenia Quesada, director of FUNDIAPHO, affirms that such complaints, often without evidence, make it difficult for a man to comply with his obligations. In addition, men reported for domestic violence are punished by not being able to get close to their children.

According to Jorge Pita, a man that had his alimony payment reduced, the alimony-domestic violence package is used to separate children from a parent,  to destroy families or ruin heritages.
