Alvarado supports credit to remodel National Theater

President Carlos Alvarado supports the loan negotiated with the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) for $31 million for the remodeling of the National Theater.

In the midst of the struggle with the opposition for the convenience of this indebtedness, the president raised the need to protect the heritage. He feels it is better to approve the loan than let this property deteriorate more.

Despite the weak fiscal situation, the president supports the country’s debt with this loan.

Regarding the allegations of sexual harassment facing the director of the theater, Fred Herrera, the president asked legislators not to mix this discussion with the needs of the property.
