Alvarado’s Government denounced for “Political Persecution”

Former legislator Mario Redondo, from the Christian Democratic Alliance (ADC), publicly denounced that in the government of President Carlos Alvarado “there is shameful political persecution”.

In a message tweeted on Monday, June 17th, Redondo even said that the Minister of the Presidency, Rodolfo Piza, is aware of the particular case that he describes as political persecution.

In his tweet, the former legislator tagged the official Twitter account of Rodolfo Piza and the President of the Republic, but didn’t receive a reply until 10:00 am on Tuesday.

Redondo added in the thread that the victim of the persecution does not want his name to be made public yet and, insisted, that Rodolfo Piza handles the evidence of the matter.

CRHoy.com learned from reliable sources that the alleged political persecution that was reported to the Presidential Palace occurred in the Ministry of Planning.

The facts refer to a contest for a position in a department of that ministry. For no apparent reason, the authorities of the portfolio would have stopped the designation of the person who won the process, with the approval of the Human Resources Department of the institution.

The sources indicate that the person who won the contest gave their support to another political party during the last campaign and that that would have unleashed the alleged persecution.

Rodolfo Piza, on the other hand, denies all of the above.
