An American woman died this Thursday after being attacked by a tiger shark in the area of Isla del Coco.
The press office of the Ministry of Security confirmed that they received the warning of the attack from the Coast Guard Station of Caldera .
After investigating the situation, the death of the tourist was confirmed. The diving instructor was also seriously injured.
Carlos Hidalgo, spokesman for the Ministry of Security, mentioned that the activity was carried out by a private company.
The body will be transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office of Puntarenas.
