Somali Mohamed Ibaarahim Qoordheer, suspected of creating terrorist groups linked to Islamism, was detained in Costa Rican territory.
The subject, who would be 24 or 25 years old, arrived in Costa Rica after making a trip in Brazil and Colombia.
In his social networks, the suspect published several videos referring to armed men and women, as well as messages that reveal his beliefs or political positions. This was found on his Facebook profile, where he had been publishing from Costa Rica for about 10 days.
His most relevant post was published on February 11th, where he wrote a message in Arabic alluding to a ‘journey’:
God is great, God is great, God is great … we ask you on this journey for your mercy… you are the traveling companion.
After his arrest in Costa Rica, the Ministry of Public Security (MSP) confirmed that the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security, confirmed that it is a person allegedly linked to international terrorist organizations and it requested his immediate detention to start investigations.
The alleged terrorist pretended to be a migrant and his goal was to reach the United States.
