Officials from Quepos Coastal Environmental Unit, along with staff from the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) of the Ministry of Environment, assisted a sea lion. The animal appeared at Terrazas del Pacifico Hotel in Jacó.

Authorities checked that the marine mammal had a perfect health and, in order to guarantee the animal or a person’s safety, it was transported in a kennel.

the sea lion was transported offshore aboard a Coast Guard vessel. He was released in a sea current.

According to experts from the National Coast Guard Service, this marine mammal could have been carried on national shores by some cold current.

It should be mentioned that this species belongs to the family of seals and walruses, which make the group of marine mammals known as pinnipeds.
