Due to the multiple cases in which law enforcement officers are related to theft or corruption activities, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) announced that it will not tolerate situations that tarnish its constitutional image.
Gustavo Mata, Security minister, said more than 115 officers will be dismissed this year due to serious irregularities in their work.
We will continue with our iron fist. We will not allow acts of corruption. We’re not going to let any policemen disrespect this holy uniform. We have cases of rape, kidnapping, murder, attempted murders and serious crimes,
declared Mata.
According to Mata, any felony case is an offense. Therefore, they will immediately apply the provisions of the law to apply layoffs without following any administrative procedure.
