2014 is the fifth season of Art City Tour, which opens museums, art galleries, theaters and cultural spaces in San Jose to the public, free of charge. To date the tour has admitted 30,148 people since its first night on February 24, 2010.
Expenses for the free event are $7,500 per night in expenses, and is paid by the Ministry of Culture. Organizers are hoping that the event has now attracted a big enough audience more corporate sponsors will sponsor the event. Included in the cost are 20 minibuses that transport participants along four routes.
Tonight Art City will again open in San Jose, from 4:30pm until 9:00pm.
