The constant ash fall from Turrialba volcano eruptions, may cause cuts in electricity services in areas such as Coronado, considered by the National Power and Light Company (CNFL) as one of the most affected communities.
Luis Fernando Andrés, head of distribution of CNFL says ashes fall on isolation areas, causing a reduction of creepage distance; and with rain, it causes shortcuts in insulators, leading to burning, disconnected circuits, thus causing power outages in the area.
