Lawyers for the 84 U.S. investors who accused Matthew Quintavalle of fraud, will continue with a case in civil court despite the death of Quintavalle, according to the lawyer Alfredo Fournier.
Fournier criticized the slowness of the judicial process and three years of investigation by the Ministerio Público with little results. The Public Ministry reported that Italian businessman had four cases against him, but these ended with the death of Quintavalle.
These investors are mostly residents of Orlando, Florida, United States. They say they invested savings in a tourism project, promoted by Quintavalle and so far have not recovered the money.
